My name is Norbu, I am 50 years old. I was born in Lo Kha, Tibet. I was fortunate because my parents gave an opportunity to me to become a monk so they send me to great Sera monastery.

During my stay, I studied Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and Tibetan history for almost 10 years.

Later I studied English. I had decided to disrobe the monkhood.  Since then, I stayed with my sister in Lhasa. I took a job at Phuntsok Guesthouse and it was owned by a German.

It was great time for me to practice English with foreigners.  I worked for three years at the guesthouse. So, my Boss guided me to be a tour guide. I took the travel guide license test. From1998 until now, I am a local tour guide in Lhasa. I really love my job because I could share Tibetan history, Buddhist culture and Tibetans life stories with my clients. It is the best job I could ever imagine.
