Tibet Group Tour is the sister website of Explore Tibet, and we are one of the leading Tibetan tour operators, based solely in Lhasa, the Tibetan capital. All our staff are Tibetan and have many years of experience working on tours across the plateau, and many are trained in Eco-Tourism from the University of Columbia.
All out tour guides are experts in Tibet tours, know the most beautiful places to visit, and are experienced in high-altitude trekking. As native Tibetans, our guides have a deeply ingrained knowledge of Tibetan culture, traditions, religion, and history, all of which is a natural part of their daily lives.
During our tours, our guests have the chance to experience the real Tibetan day-to-day life, learning about their daily routines, rich customs, and religious habits. Your travels will take you to spectacular Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, ancient and historic sites, nomadic plains and prairies where the people still follow the nomad traditions of their ancestors, and the stunning landscapes of the Tibetan plateau, filled with high snow-capped mountains, rich fertile valleys, and awesome turquoise lakes. Our tours give you an unparalleled experience of the unique environment of Tibet and the rich traditions of its people.
As a local Tibetan tour operator, we practice Responsible Tourism and are dedicated to utilizing local services and native Tibetan people to encourage the economic development of the region. We value our rich and colorful culture and traditions, and work towards an unpolluted and environmentally stable economy, using the core values of preservation. We also insist on a “Leave No Trace” policy for all our tours and educate all our staff to teach the appropriate local etiquette to all our guests before they travel in Tibet, to ensure local customs and traditions are not affected by external influence. And while our influence in the area is limited by the number of tours we provide, as the primary practitioners of Responsible Tourism in Tibet, we are confident that the idea will become more popular in the future, and are enthusiastic in our promotion of Responsible Tourism and Community Interest and Volunteering.
All our Tibet Travel Consultants and Tibetan Tour Guides are fully qualified and have a minimum of five years of experience as either guides or travel experts. All of our tour information is based on the first-hand experience in the field of Tibetan travel and a secure knowledge of the local situation, not gleaned from books and other sources of information.
We always do our best to make all our tours as flexible as possible, within the realms of our ability to do so, to ensure that our guests are not restricted and confined by an inflexible itinerary. While the itinerary is set at the time of booking, it is usually flexible enough to incorporate our guest’s additional requests.
We have a company guarantee that all our tours are free of “forced shopping” and “arrangements” with certain stores and factories, and our guides will not promote a certain store or product for personal or company profit. All tours are purely authentic, and such practices are not included in our tours.
We earnestly practice “Fair Trade” policies by paying our staff and community service team members a reasonable base salary plus performance bonuses, in order to maintain a standard of service that is second to none.
When traveling as part of one of our tours, your designated “Travel Coordinator” will be available 24 hours a day. Our staff are happy to help all our clients based on their needs, and we can also help with altering, adjusting, and rebooking flight and train tickets, even if they were not made through us. Your needs are our responsibility.
We support our local community through the use of local services as much as possible for all our tour and guest needs, where available. We promote Responsible Tourism by minimizing our impact on the environment and culture of the local people wherever we travel, and provide regular volunteers in local villages to help the local environment and economy.
