“Tibetan 3 star hotel in heart of town”

Stayed May 2011, traveled as a couple

It wasn't as comfortable as a Motel 6, but it did the best it could. The lobby was spacious - yet smoky - with hard surfaces throughout that made it appear bright and clean. To counteract the smoke, there was also incense burning, which meant you made a mad dash through the lobby at any time it required passing!
The rooms were nright (during day) and nicely appointed with hand painted ceiling details. You can tell they take great pride in their 3 star ranking. hot water was available during certain hours and the bathroom had a western toilet. Toilet paper was provided. I would still recommend using shower shoes and sandals throughout the room as no vacuums are available and the rug is a bit dingy. Rooms are cleaned with the small hand brooms that are scattered across the country. Bring your own soap, but toothbrushes / toothpaste, shampoo and body wash are provided if you need it.
Restaurant was good and we met with the chef to discuss our meal plan. Excellent presentation and flavor for both the western and local meals. The Yak sizzler is a yummy one!
